We are thrilled that Polydor / Universal France is releasing the epic soundtrack to “En Attendant Bojangles”. Streaming, CD and DOUBLE VINYL!! More info here.
So exquisitely crafted by Regis Roinsard, "En Attendant Bojangles" comes out tomorrow in theaters.
The score is made beautiful by the musicians who played on it, they are the life and blood that gives the music so much feeling. We were able to do some early cues in a room with others pre pandemic, but most of it was done all remote, which was challenging but also incredibly rewarding and connecting. And now, we shall list these noble creatures here. What a stellar, world class cast of music makers. Seeing all their names together; we are dumbstruck, awestruck, gobsmacked, in anaphylactic shock by the talents. We are the luckiest. We shall call them the Super Star Symphony.

Starting a new film about Caro & Gottlieb
We are thrilled to be contributing the score to a fascinating new film about two proven geniuses Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb. They have worked together for 50 years and this film looks at that very unique and historically significant working relationship, sometimes turbulent, always loyal and always fruitful. You can read about the making of this film and more from it’s director, Lizzie Gottlieb here.

Oscar's Shortlist!
Fun little bit of news that a film we scored, “Hysterical Girl”, is on the shortlist for an Academy Award nomination. This is a such a great film that was brilliantly directed by Kate Novack. You can watch the film now on the New York Times website. The film was set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in 2020 but of course, Covid had other plans. The New York Times picked up the film and it’s made it so lots of people can see it. It’s the story of Freud’s only female subject matter and it’s a powerful message, taking Freud down from his throne

Please consider purchasing this song, for a good cause, and a good listen-

Tribeca and SXSW film Fests
Olivier and I have scored an incredible short film called “Hysterical Girl” directed by Kate Novack. It will be at SXSW Film Fest in March. It’s about Freuds only female case study called “Dora”. It’s a fascinating look at the way in which our culture has been likely inspired by Freuds perception to blame the female victim of sexual assault. His take was, she wanted it, she asked for it, “no” means “yes”… Horrible. And these themes have been trickling down ever since… Anita Hill, Christine Blasey Ford, but also countless low profile, unknown people who never find justice because of this patriarchal blame game. It was a great pleasure to work on this film musically, and to be involved with a project that is drawing profound lines effortlessly between the past and present.
At Tribeca Film Fest “Making The Case” Starring Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a short film that Clare did scoring for. The film received a grant to hire female composers only (whoop!) so Clare went solo on this. It’s a sweet film where RBG shows us all the hand bags she’s collected over the years and the stories behind them. She’s so eloquent and frankly, it’s a light lovely film in the midst of so much darkness in the world. She’s really letting us in.
A thrilling new French film!
We are extremely excited to let you know we are at work on a new film starring Romain Duris, we have been a fan of his since all the Klapisch films. The film is directed by the amazing Regis Roinsard. It’s called “En Ettendant Bojangles”, “Waiting For Bojangles”. The script is brilliant, written by Regis, and it’s based on a very moving book of the same name, which was an international best seller. We’ll keep you posted on the exciting process. Here is a photo from a recent horn section we had.

Scoring a Danny Glover Film "The Drummer"
Just getting to work on a film starring Danny Glover called “The Drummer”. It’s a dark look at Iraq War veterans living with PTSD. Danny carries the film really well and we feel a kinship with this film. We’ll keep you posted on a release date.
